Is Your Business Ready for a Website?
Check out the information below to do some preliminary work on developing your website.
What is your purpose or mission?
Can you create a short paragraph or two that conveys to your audience what your company is all about.
Consider Your Target Audience
Who is your target audience? Men, women, children, all? Did you know, in general, men want more information-based websites and women want more aesthetically pleasing websites?
Do you want something monochromatic or something with lots of color?
Do you want a header, sidebar, navigation tabs, etc. Consider and visualize the overall layout of your website. Check out other websites and decide what you like and what you don’t like.
Do you want simple PayPal buttons or something more elaborate. PayPal buttons are free, anything more than that has extra costs involved.
This is all about developing trust with your consumers. Studies have shown, the more you spend here, the more you sell. Consumers are less likely to trust a website that did not buy it’s own domain name. Also, if consumers are using credit cards, many want to see an “s” at the end of the http prefix. This means that someone viewing the transaction from outside can only see giberish and cannot steal the consumer’s personal information. Prices range anywhere from $10 a year to thousands of dollars a year. Check out www.Verisign.com for more information on website security.
